Today I was totally impressed by the 1st graders in Mr. Brine's class and just had to share! We were singing an old English song called "The North Wind." We have sung it in class before and are working on it for our concert at the end of May. In previous class periods the students figured out on their own that the song was in triple meter and learned the melody to the song. Today, however, I thought I would give them a challenge. While they were singing the melody, I sang the harmony along with them. They were so interested in the harmony part that I was singing that I decided to teach it to them and see if we could switch parts. Here are the beautiful results :) I am constantly blown away with the growth that I see in all of our students at Bryant and at how eager they are to learn. It really is a joy to watch them learn.
